Hey there, thanks for stopping by! I’ve been a real estate investor in New Orleans since 1995 and I thought this would be great way to showcase my properties and share valuable information about the New Orleans real estate market. Uptown Luxury Homes $900k+ Up 11.5% YOY

So far in 2011 luxury homes in Uptown New Orleans, which are defined as single family residences that sell for over $900,000, are averaging a sales price of $279 per square foot.

That is an 11.6% improvement over 2010 where they averaged $250 per square foot.

A likely factor contributing to this rise is record low interest rates which are not out of reach for these affluent homebuyers.

Residential Housing: Rents are on the Rise

Stephan Metelica, a 24-year old charter pilot, shares a two-bedroom apartment with a friend in Chicago’s Lincoln Park neighborhood. The duo split the $1,525 monthly rent, but they were surprised this month when their landlord lease came up for renewal and their landlord asked for a 5 percent increase, to $1,600.

“I was pretty upset about it,” Metelica says of what would amount to nearly $40 more per month per person. “I thought a 5 percent increase was ridiculous.” Continue reading

Awesome! That means I get paid a healthy return, much healthier than you can get anywhere else, with very little risk. (For you naysayers that say tax lien investing is risky, realize I wasn’t born yesterday and I only buy liens on properties that are of very high quality.) Continue reading
